Taming the To-Do List

Taming the To-Do List

Happy Labor Day!!!

September is here – and so is a brand new school year!  For kids, that brings excitement and a bit of nervousness.  For parents, that brings… well, excitement and nervousness (but, for different reasons).

The school year brings a change of pace from a laid back summer – making brown paper bag lunches, checking to make sure socks and shoes match, catching the bus, packing and unpacking backpacks, practices, rehearsals, concerts, games, homework, projects… and those aren’t even your responsibilities!  Keeping a household organized while working a full-time job and being a full-time parent can make your to-do lists unobtainable and never-ending!

So, how do we choose the best work every day?  Usually – guilt!  The dishes are in the sink, the living room pillows are on the floor, and the laundry is backed up for weeks.  We fall behind on scheduling routine doctor appointments, mowing the grass, planned trips to the grocery store… I’m sure you can relate. The only way to manage such an overwhelming amount to tasks is all in the point-of-view – and author Glynnis Whitwer has a wonderful point-of-view on how to rebuild your determination when your ready to give up!

Practical, easy-to-apply advice to tame your to-do list and make the most of every day with your family from Proverbs 31 author Glynnis Whitwer. #entertowin

In Glynnis Whitwer’s newest book, Taming the To-Do List:  How to Choose Your Best Work Every Day, she identifies what makes us feel so overburdened.  No matter how hard women work or how much they accomplish in a day, there’s lingering anxiety and guilt over what we didn’t get done and the world isn’t going to stop so we can catch up.  So, to feel lest burdened and unorganized, we need to make significant changes in how we manage our time.  She addresses how procrastination impacts how we see and accomplish our dreams and goals – and how to change our point-of-view.
