Making Yourself Your #1 Priority
As a busy mom you may frequently ask yourself “What is my most important priority I have today?” There may be several answers… family, work, religion, school, errands, the list can go on and on. However, have you ever stopped and said, “I am my most important priority today.” Making yourself your own priority may not be an easy task but it is incredibly important. The question is where to start?
- Love and be kind to yourself.
Forgive yourself for whatever may be holding you back: work, lack of organization, clutter, or taking on more than you can handle. Relax and have the confidence in yourself and believe that you have the capability to make the correct decisions. Love yourself for who you are.
- Choose healthy and nutritious meals.
Choosing a balanced diet is the foundation of good health. Eating healthy is crucial to provide the energy and fuel your body requires to get you though the day and to handle stress better.
- Get organized – inside and out.
Having years of clutter taking over your life can become very frustrating and upsetting. Focus and put your attention into one small goal, such as the pantry. Take things slowly to accomplish ridding disorganization from your home. Then, focus on self-care and take some well deserved me time. Choose a calm hobby you enjoy to help free your mind of clutter. Relaxing activities like sewing, knitting, reading and painting can put a whole day’s worth of disorganization to rest.
Make yourself your #1 priority and reconnect with who you are. Embrace your imperfections; be authentic and realistic in your decisions and actions. Align your priorities, principles, and values to set the stage for a happier, relaxed and more organized YOU!
